I am sorry I have not posted the competition yesterday but moving back to the UK and suffering from the snow took its toll. Manolis, who is a Peloponnesian History buff, send us another one of his quizzes.

Did they leave the war to their children? I believe they did. Prove it by naming pairs of fathers and sons, who are both active in Thucydides’ History.
What I love most about these quizzes is they make me read, or re-think
I’ll have a go. I presume both father and son had to have had a hand in the Peloponnesian War.
Pericles, son of Xanthippus, and Pericles, son of Pericles, come to mind at once, as do Alcibiades and his father Cleinias. And of course, Archidamus himself and his son Agis. There are certainly others but I can’t think of them offhand.
Very well done! It seems that for most of this blog’s followers this quiz was exceptionally difficult. To you answer I would like to add other famous father/son participations to the war: Hagnon-Theramenes / Ramphias-Clearchos.
