Quotation of the week 1

History is an account, mostly false, of events, mostly unimportant, which are brought about by rulers, mostly knaves, and soldiers, mostly fools.

  1. What an interesting quote.

It does make one wonder how our histories will appear 100-2oo years from now.

  2. A very clever quote. Nevertheless, a Thucydides enthusiast like myself will surely disagree that history is a “mostly false” account.
